Pro-Development Committee- Villa Cañona, Loiza

After Hurricane María members of the community Villa Cañona in Loiza established a Community Kitchen in their community center. They were serving breakfast and lunch Mondays and Saturdays for approximately 150 people. Currently the kitchen is closed in order to move to another building in which, once the roof is refurbished, they will reestablish the services of the communal kitchen once per week. The new space will be located in Villa Cañona I.  in the structure of an abandoned Head Start on land that will be ceded by agreement to the community. This 3 rooms will be transformed into 1 whole big area for the head start, with a community kitchen serving every day a decent meal for older people in the community  They are looking for funds to begin the work of remodeling the space.
